I am a political scientist in the Department of Political Science (IfPol) at the University of Münster. My research focuses on comparative politics, with a particular interest in how political parties and citizens understand, reproduce, and challenge democratic principles. My work examines the drivers of democratic backsliding and resilience, support for populist parties, and the determinants of political and democratic attitudes. My research has been published in the European Journal of Political Research, West European Politics, Party Politics, and Political Studies, among others.
I hold a Dr. phil. in Political Science from the University of Salzburg, based on my dissertation “Dissatisfied democrats? How citizens' policy discontent and conceptions of democracy relate to support for populist parties”.
